"I think he is going to do a great job. AB (de Villiers) is on top of his own game, I think that is very important for him as a leader. He will lead from the front because he is comfortable with his own game and he knows how he plays, I don't think he will change his style," Sport 24 quoted Morkel, as saying.
"He is a likeable character around the country. I know him pretty well, we stayed together when we were youngsters he was a naughty boy. Since then he has grown up a lot and I'm looking forward to see how he develops as a captain," he added.
The series would mark De Villiers's first stint as captain since his appointment to the post seven months ago.
Morkel, who played an international cricket match last against Pakistan in November 2010, has been included in the South African squad as a replacement for Dean Elgar, who is battling a knee injury.
He was earlier adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for the Titans after scoring an unbeaten 127 and 55 and taking five wickets.
"It's been probably just over a year (since he played for the Proteas) and obviously a few injuries helped me to get back into the side. I guess I also scored the runs and took wickets at the right time for the Titans so I'm very happy to be back and hopefully I can make a contribution when I get the chance," Morkel said.(ANI)
